Altair

Altair is an 11.4-metre sailing yacht built in 2003, berthed at Ece Marina in Fethiye. Three double cabins accommodate up to six guests, and the yacht operates strictly as a whole-boat charter, meaning the deck, cockpit and salon remain exclusively yours for the entire trip.

A hull of this size responds to shifts in wind and pressure with a precision that larger, heavier vessels rarely match. Every tack registers at the helm, and each gust calls for a deliberate response, making the sailing itself central to the experience rather than incidental to it. Guests with prior sailing miles will find that handling Altair accurately delivers a level of engagement most bigger charter yachts don't offer, while those newer to sailing will find each manoeuvre genuinely instructive.

Ece Marina lies within a day's sail of the quieter anchorages scattered across Fethiye Bay and the sheltered inlets around Göcek. Groups with a few extra days can plan a multi-day blue cruise from this base, choosing each morning's course according to wind and mood rather than following a fixed itinerary. This flexibility is one of the real advantages of a Fethiye yacht charter under sail, as opposed to a predetermined motor-yacht route.

Below deck, each of the three cabins offers a private space for two after hours spent on the foredeck or around the cockpit table. The balance between life on deck and privacy below suits a group of six who are genuinely interested in sailing rather than simply being transported between anchorages. For anyone considering a gulet charter or a classic motor yacht instead, Altair offers a distinctly different, more hands-on kind of yacht charter experience.
