How a private day charter works
First, the difference that matters: these are not ticketed party boats. The boat is yours for the day; you decide who comes aboard, how long to linger in each bay, and how loud the music plays.
The classic rhythm is a departure around 10:00 and a return between 17:00 and 18:00. The day brings four or five anchorages with unhurried time to swim, snorkel and stretch out on deck. The route takes its final shape on the morning of the tour: the captain reads the wind and the crowds and suggests the best order, and the last word is yours. The season runs from mid April to late October, with daily departures.
The classic route: five stops off Bodrum
Boats leaving Bodrum town follow a route the years have polished into a classic. The first stop is usually Karaada, where thermal spring water at about 33 degrees seeps into the sea from a shoreline cave; the ritual is to rub on the cave mud and rinse off in the warm water, which locals say does wonders for the skin. Next comes Poyraz Harbour on the island's southeast side, with water clear enough to count the pebbles.
The third stop is the peninsula's most famous swim: Aquarium Bay in the Adabogazi strait, where the current between Gorecek Island and the shore keeps the water endlessly fresh and the fish genuinely do circle your ankles. The afternoon brings Tavsan Burnu, the headland named for its rabbit-like profile, and depending on the captain, Kizilburun or the spot known as the Meteor, where a crater is said to lie below.
If you fancy a longer day, ask about Orak Island: roughly 16 kilometres out, a two-hour cruise each way, and so clear it has earned the nickname "the Maldives of Bodrum".
Lunch and drinks on board
On most day charters lunch is included and cooked fresh on board; the classic menu is grilled chicken, pasta and a seasonal salad, usually followed by fruit. Menus can be upgraded boat by boat, and special requests are easy to arrange at booking.
Drinks are generally not included. The common practice on day boats runs two ways: buy from the boat's cooler, or bring your own. Your quote states clearly which arrangement applies on your boat, so the day holds no surprises.
Prices and weather guarantee
For the 2026 season, a private full-day charter starts around 500 to 900 Euro for a compact boat with captain and fuel included, and 700 to 1,200 Euro for boats with bigger decks and richer equipment; the yacht class sits above that. Sunset cruises of two to three hours make a budget-friendly alternative.
On weather: if the Coast Guard closes the harbour, the tour simply does not sail, and you receive a full refund or a free date change, whichever you prefer. In borderline conditions the captain reroutes to sheltered bays instead of cancelling. Share your date and group size below; the exact price for your boat arrives in writing the same day.

Frequently Asked Questions
What time does the tour start and finish?
The standard pattern is a departure around 10:00 and a return between 17:00 and 18:00. Later returns can be agreed with the captain on board, and sunset cruises run two to three hours in the evening.
Do we choose the route?
Yes; the boat is private, so the route is yours. In practice the best days come from deciding together: the captain suggests an order based on the day's wind and how busy each bay is, and you adjust it to taste.
Is lunch included?
On most boats yes, cooked fresh on board: typically grilled chicken, pasta and salad, with fruit to finish. Your quote states exactly what your boat includes.
Can we bring our own drinks?
On most day boats, yes; you can also buy from the boat's cooler. The exact arrangement varies by boat and is confirmed at booking.
Is it suitable for children and non-swimmers?
Very much so. Life jackets are on board, stops are made in calm coves with ladder access, and the crew keeps watch during swims. Shallow sandy bays like Kargi can be added to the route for families.
What happens if the weather turns?
If the Coast Guard closes the harbour, the tour does not sail and you get a full refund or a free date change. In borderline weather the captain reroutes to sheltered bays rather than cancelling.
