Vela

Vela is a 14.4-metre sailing yacht built in 2023 and based at Yacht Club Mai. With three cabins and berths for six guests, she is offered strictly as a whole-boat charter, so for every day of the trip the cockpit, saloon and all cabins remain reserved for a single group. That arrangement suits families or groups of friends who want the boat entirely to themselves.

A 2023 build year still matters in yacht charter terms. Vela's interior finishes are close to new, her navigation electronics meet current standards, and her deck hardware hasn't been worn down by successive seasons of use. A sailing yacht this recent, available for private hire, is relatively uncommon, and the practical benefits follow directly: comfort, mechanical reliability and day-to-day safety all gain from a hull with minimal wear. At 14.4 metres she strikes a useful balance for liveaboard sailing, large enough for multi-day passages and three properly sized cabins, yet compact enough to reach shallower coves that bigger boats can't enter.

From Yacht Club Mai, guests can choose a single-day sail along the coast or plan a longer blue cruise over several days. The route can adapt to wind and to the group's preferences; if a favoured anchorage feels crowded, Vela can simply move on to quieter water. That flexibility is one of the real advantages of a sailing yacht or gulet charter at this size.

Sailing aboard Vela offers something a motor cruise cannot: the gradual heel as the sail fills, the responsiveness of a well-trimmed rig, and the quiet satisfaction of anchoring after a day under canvas. Because the yacht is chartered privately for one group, the schedule is entirely yours: early starts, long lunches at anchor, or spontaneous changes of plan. For a yacht charter that pairs a genuinely modern hull with real sailing character, Vela is worth considering. Contact us for availability and a tailored quote.
