Athena 5

Athena 5 is a 14.6-metre sailing yacht built in 2023 and based at Göcek Mucev Marina on Turkey's southwestern coast. Because every fitting, sail and system on board is only a couple of seasons old, the yacht avoids the wear that gradually shows up on older charter boats, from the smoothness of the winches to the condition of the deck hardware.

Five cabins sleep up to 10 guests, and Athena 5 is chartered as a whole boat only, so the entire yacht, the deck, the salon and every cabin, stays with a single group for the length of the trip. That arrangement suits two or three families sharing a sailing week, couples wanting real privacy on the water, or a group of friends who want the boat itself, not a shared itinerary, at the centre of their holiday. Sailing a yacht of this size has its own character: taking a turn at the helm on an open passage, eating on deck while under sail, or sitting quietly at anchor as the light fades behind a headland.

Göcek Mucev Marina is a practical starting point for a Göcek yacht charter. The wooded coves inside the gulf are reachable only by boat, and the same base opens onto longer routes toward Fethiye, Marmaris and the Bozburun Peninsula. Depending on how much ground your group wants to cover, you can plan a relaxed loop of the inner gulf or shape a longer blue cruise around wind and weather. As a 2023 build, Athena 5 is a solid sailing alternative to a gulet charter for groups who want the boat under canvas rather than under engine.

Peak-season dates for a newly built sailing yacht based in Göcek tend to fill up faster than expected. Contact us to check availability and receive a quote for your group.
